 Whats up? i'm headcase from knoxville, tennessee, originally from santa fe new mexico. i used to work out at the same gym as missy the missle giove. the real reason i'm here is to let people know of a cool frame i'm trying to sell. it's an older all original barracuda comp at racing frame that actually raced in durango colorado during the first days of hardcore mnt bike racing. it's signed by giove, ned overend, tinker juarez and has original sponsor decals such as rock shox and ringle components. no joke or b.s it's really all original and my buddy watched as the bike was taken apart after the race and took it around to the racers to have it signed personally. i don't know what it's worth but the people on e-bay don't understand the significance of what those guys and gal meant to the sport of mnt biking and how cool that frame is. i'd love to keep it but i need the dough to help pay for a recent brain surgery i had that put me out of work for a long time. please advise! take care. headcase

Hi. I'm from the western suburbs of Chicago, Illinois. I currently ride a Gary Fisher mountain bike, but want to buy a road bike. My last road type bike I owned was I believe when I was in 8th grade (about 25 years ago). Lots has changed since then so I need some help.

i'm in florida, hey theres no hills. Anyway, does anybody know about disk brake adjustment and main? I also would like to know if it's best to rebuild or replace forks. Technology is wonderful. I started out building my own bikes. My buddy worked the steel shredder in syracuse n.y. and brought me all the goods. My first bike was an early 90s gt. Rigid frame and centerpull brakes, I got a kick out of beating all the guys w 2000 dollar bikes. I live in tampa now, the best set of trails i have found are flatwoods, go figure. I ride my 27lb specialized on the road mostly, endurance is important to me. I havn't rode in about 8 yrs but 3 mo into riding again my avg. speed is still 22mph, I'm a badass huh? I try to ride 100 mi weekly so that i don't embarass myself if ever i find someone who can keep up. Anyway, I know somebody out there is still sereouse about this thing, Any fellow dirtbags?

I live in San Antonio, Texas (USA) and am an I/T support specialist.

I started riding in March of 2006, and training for a ride from San Antonio to Corpus Christie (approximately 150 miles (250 km) over two days) in May of 2006. I completed that ride in October of 2006, but am training again for the one this year.

I try to make at least three rides a week (20-35 miles (32-56 km) each) but am still trying to learn to become a better cyclist, such as what gear to use, when to shift, and so on.

I purchased my bicycle, a (20 inch) Giant Cypress DX, in July of 2006.

    From East Sussex, England.

Currently cycling 100 - 150 road miles per week on a 1998 Specialized Hard Rock with off road tyres and all!

Have decided to buy a road racing bike now as I seem to have maxed out my average speed on a mountain bike.

My problem is that if I don't love the bike I hate it and won't use it. I've currently got a short-list of either a Wilier Evasion Mirage or a Colnago Dream Lux. I've got about £1,000 to spend so any tips would be helpfull.

    Working as a Customs Officer.

Breathing pedicab nut (Rickshaws) - find more of me at rickshawforum.com but as I love all that has cycling wheels, also am proud to say I got a bunch of other cycles, trikes & quads to get the leg firm.

I'm also happy to say that a sweet little kiwi elf got me all hot for cycles again after a thousand years in hell. So now the urge is to learn more about making other types of cycles & this forum is another step.

I've just finished making a proto LWB recumbent two wheeler & am finding it's time to learn more about other types of bikes & cycles.

I'm actualy a lovely german but have spent most of my life in england & can now say I understand Monty Python :D.

Here in the U.S. with our recent rise in the price of petrol people are starting to talk about rickshaw businesses mainly jokingly. People here would rather drive 4blocks (1/2km) than walk or ride a bike. Its insane how addicted we are to gasoline.

Hi everyone, I live in Willimantic, CT. I just got back into cycling after nearly three years (my old bike was stolen in early 2005 shortly after I moved here). This past weekend I found an old Raleigh road bike at a tag sale. So far I rode it twice with good results.

Hello... I'm new here and to road biking. I'm from Southern Ontario, I'm a political science and international development student, and I also work for the university in multimedia and technology support. I just bought my first road bike two weeks ago, and use it primarily to commute, but hope to train for a beginner duathlon next spring.
