I live in Buffalo NY and ride a couple of hundred miles a year. I ride my bike over to Canada a couple of times a month. Last week the US boarder patrol thought I was an Irish gypsy trying to get into America illegally. He said I had and Irish broag from Belfast. I love to ride in Canada, because the drivers are much more curtious than they are here in the US.

Hello!

My name is CJ, I live in Titusville Florida and work as a funeral director. This makes my fourth week commuting to work on my 90s Giant Kronos. Look forward to learning from the contributors.

Hey everybody,

I'm Andrew, 20 years old, and from Calgary, Alberta! I am currently attending the University of Lethbridge and shoul have a B.Sc. Physics by the end of 2011. I spend most of my bike time on my mountain bike, iron horse azure comp, and finished my first race last year. I joined the forum because I'd like to see how strong, fast, and far I can ride before I peak and I figured you guys probably have a wealth of knowledge to share with me!

Hello all!
I'm from central interior California (Clovis, Fresno area), where I work as a firefighter. A couple of months ago I dusted off my 25 year-old Schwinn Peloton and started riding regularly with a couple of buddies. They both have much more modern bikes, one a Cervelo and the other a Pinarello Prince. Needless to say, I'm wondering if an upgrade will work any magic for me in terms of performance. Since my current bike, bought second-hand, is a bit smallish for me, I'm ready to start buying parts and piecing together a new mount. My friend has found me a pretty nice Fondriest frame, which should make a good foundation for a bike which will eliminate itself from being used as an excuse for lagging behind. Looking to gain some insight and knowledge from reading the posts of contributors here. Thanks for letting me join up!

Hey Reef

So you actually managed to get a start slot in Noosa. Well done :). I hope I´ll be doing either in a team or do the cycle criterium. I´m a student to so I know your pain. I was however lucky enough to by my bike before I went back to studyes. Do you ride with any club in Brissie??

Cheers
Merete

[lang=hr]Hey people, I am Ivan from Bosnia and Herzegovina, and I m very interested in road cycling. This is very good site, and I ll be glad to recommend you![/lang]

Hi folks,
I am in England, used to have a 1965 Hercules 3-speed gents bike - cost me £10 - took years of abuse, eventually it got very wobbly - luckily diagnosed as a broken frame by local bike shop, otherwise I would probably have crashed eventually. Since then have had a Kona which I'm very happy with.

Now I'm looking for a children's/small adult bike for the family that isn't horrible and heavy - not easy to tell from the websites.

From Wisconsin (US) and do mostly road riding on a mountain bike (no shocks). Joined to get some info on single speeds....as well as other helpful information on biking.

Hi everyone,

My name's Ben, and I'm a 21 year old Maths student at Edinburgh University, though spend my summer closer to Cambridge. I have been mountain biking occasionally for quite a few years now, and over the past couple of years have started riding more on the roads, too.Unfortunately, both of my bikes were stolen just two weeks ago, so I'm currently shopping for a replacement, though it's hard on a student budget.

Anyhow, looking forward to getting to know people.

Hi! My name is Heather and I am co owner, along with my wonderful husband Richie of PM Cycle & Multisport in Paris, Ontario. It's a new business, just opened two weeks ago! I am a runner first, and last year moved into triathlons. I am currently training for Muskoka 1/2 ironman in September, but will be out in BC this summer in August cheering on Richie as he does Ironman Canada! We both love to ride, mostly cross bikes and road bikes, but we have a slew of them for any purpose!

Can't wait to check this forum out!

Heather

Fron Hull/UK, been an active sportsman all my life, javelin, discus, running, gymnastics,x-country ski-ing, biathlon, you name it I've probably had a dabble. I'm nearly 50 and have suffered, through all the sport, with bad knees, I've tried to keep my fitness levels up but could only manage 10-15 mins on a tread mill before the old knees started hurting. Last year I decided to purchase an hybrid trek 7.5 and havnt looked back since, I can now go out for over an hour with my heartrate at a decent level and feel as though I have really had a good cardio workout and in less than a year, have knocked over 10 mins off a 15 mile circuit.
I have now decided to go one step further and invest in a trek 1.2 as I feel I can get even more out of cycling.
