Where are you from, what do you do?

I'm from Georgia and I'm finally getting around to short runs to try to get my legs in shape. I just got my '96 Univega dual action tuned up and it was great. I say "was great" because my riding mower rolled off of its trailer and destroyed the rear arms , right crank arm , front gear set , warped the wheel and deraileur. Other than that it's still perfect. Now I'm looking for a parts bike to get the rear arms. If anyone knows where one is I'd appreciate a shout. 865 640 1700.

Yes, Vo2, I am certainly going to try. I did it last year, although I did not do much training. I have the Argus 3 times. However, I am not yet in the sub-3 category.

What about you? Any sparkling tips, drugs ;) (hehehe), boosters etc?

Hello from southern Arizona! Just found this website today looking for on-line references to my bike. I have a Fuji Palisade that I bought in 2004 but it is still in almost new condition due to light use. I want to start riding regularly now though. I have the time and "medical necessity." ;) And in this part of the country, this is the perfect time of year for it!

Hi, I am pdlr; I am from Ontario, Dntn Toronto and lived and work here since day one!
I am a Personal Trainer. Dntn toronto is a fantastic place to ride both road and mountian with well organized events for both. The city has a natrual Carolina forest with miles of maintained tech singletrack called the 'The Don' trail system, and the roadies have a pickup ride leaving Leaside a small neighbourhood in toronto @10 am on sat, sun and wed at Laird and Eglinton streets. There are bike paths from one end of the city to the other along the waterfront 'lake Ontario' and right up into the miles of paved trails which this fantastic city maintains. Toronto, unlimited.

Im from Delaware U.S; the entire state is only 93 miles long. If you misdirect and take the long way you can pump out a nice 118 mile journey with Atlantic coastal senery.

I'm new to the sport, and have grand pipe dreams. I have two awsome bikes, both Cannondales, one used, one new.

The old is my pride and joy; I purchased it off of a top bloke who has been cycling for many years; he outfited and custimized it to racing specs that would do any serious rider proud. Me being new; I had no idea wtf he was talking about when he sold the bike to me. Now I have an idea; I love the sport; hope to be a name in it someday soon.

Im from Waterford in Ireland. Been cycling about 4years now and starting to ride at a fairly competitive level now. Usually rack up 350km a week approx.

i am 50 years old.i had been away from riding my bike for 16 years.I have been just getting back into it.I find the bike i have now,is a little small for me.I am 6 feet tall.I have a raleigh mountain bike and will in the future buy a new bianchi road bike, the kind with the curly handle bars.
anyone selling used long sleeve jerseys?size extra large.
anyone selling cycling bib-knickers for the winter ride?I need size extra large
bike nasbar has some great products,
I am in the market to buy used mens bibs, jerseys short and long sleeved, lycra shorts, bibs knicker type.the problem i have is with the handle bars on my current bike.they are straight bars, but they do not adjust to a higher level, and makes my neck and shoulders painful after a 25 mile ride.
does anyone have a problem with their bikes?
When I am turning the front wheel,my foot touches the front tire.
thank you and look forward to hearing from you guys soon.
what is your favorite riding shorts for long rides?any special brand?you prefer over over types.

I am in the market for used mens cycling bib-knickers for the winter months and long sleeve riding jerseys ,anyone here selling used mens lycra bibs, shorts and jerseys?I need size extra large in both.I do not have what i need to buy my dream bike.i want the curly handle bars,I want a bianchi road bike, the one i would like is about 2700.00 dollars.
Is there anyone in here from manhattan?

Hey everyone. This will be my first post here at the forums, which I found just by guessing at URLs in my IE address bar.
I am an intelligence/software specialist for a private defense contractor in San Diego, CA. At 25, I am the youngest person in my entire company, and also the youngest person I know that loves cycling so much. Not a problem. I cycle as much as I can but lately, the combination of the sun setting so early (I don't ride at night) and the fact that I've been traveling on business frequently has made it difficult for me to ride as much as I would like. So I am averaging about 150-200 miles a week.
I ride a Specialized road bike, and still have my first road bike which is a Diamondback.

As far as goals go, my main goal has always been to improve/maintain physical fitness, but I enjoy being competitive in everything I do and that includes cycling. I also enjoy speed and sharp turns.

See you at the Rosarito > Ensenada Bicycle Ride. We'll party it up at the finish line w/ live music, dancing, and good food.

Thanks for having me,

This is my first time posting on this forum, although I am an avid poster on several other cycling-related forums. Anyway, ride a few different model recumbent trikes, and run a trike shop in Utah. I love riding so much that I had to figure out a way to devote my life to it. Besides riding I love making videos.

So, there you have it!

I'm in the nation's capital, the Canadian one, that is.

I have only one bike. It's a 1998 custom made-to-measure sport touring road bike. I call it a sports bike because it has more relaxed angles and a longer wheelbase than most road bikes have these days, and it has eyelets for fenders and rear rack (although I don't use either at present). Oh, and of course, it's handmade lugged Columbus steel, and all Campy components except for my Shimano pedals. The bike also has a head tube extension (like some Waterford, Rivendell and other bikes). This helps to accommodate my advancing age (54), my unusually long thighs which make me have to bend over too sharply when the handlebars are lower than the saddle and the saddle itself is positioned right. I didn't specify the extension for this originally, but it's also pretty useful to have now that I have a kidney transplant (a year ago). This puts the transplanted kidney very low in the abdominal area, and I find it tends to make it more uncomfortable to hunch over.

I'm hoping for a bit more mature forums here (as I'm sure they are). Frankly, I'm not that interested in "Do you fart harder while you ride?" types of posts, so I'll leave that other popular bicycle forum site for the kids.

By the way, I used to post on the bicycle newsgroups until my ISP dropped Usenet a few years ago. To be honest, I sort of lost interest in the racing scene after Pantani's TdF victory in '98. That was the last time I ever got excited about a bike race.

Hi all. I'm new to mountain bike riding, Started riding my sons old bike and found it hurting my back so bought a mongoose. generally try to ride for a few hour each week, some pathways and some dirt tracks near home in Kyneton Vic. I hope its going to get easier. I'm a shift worker in a paper mill in melbourne and have been making paper for about twenty five years.

My wife has no interest in riding so its a bit of a lone ride. I also try to swim once a week.
