Where do drug cheats get their drugs?

I think most of the dopers buy their drugs through shadey internet sites.

STEP #1: I found a post from you on Cycling Forums. URL:
http://www.cyclingforums.com/t40161-15-2.html
From: [email protected] (Joey D'Antoni) [Aug. 27, 2003]
JOEY'S POST: they must [be] too busy trying to catch us trackies…”

STEP 2: I used Google to search for [email protected]
One of the links that came back was to your profile for a web site
called “Chemical Anarchy Forums”

We learn that you use the internet nickname “faster1” and has a profile
on a site that focused on drug sales. You can buy just about anything
you want on this site. Joey’s Faster1 account was created on Oct. 6th 2003.
http://www.animalkits.be/phpBB/bb_profile.php?mode=view&user=3279

STEP 3: I used Google to search for “faster1” to find other posts from
Mr. Faster1. To limit my results, I search for “Faster1 EPO”.
The search returns pages from www.elitefitness.com. Elite Fitness is a
site that like “Chemical Anarchy Forums”. On this site, a person also
going by Faster1 has several posts associated with EPO. The elite
fitness account was created on Jun. 16th of 2003. I can’t be 100% sure
that this Faster1 is the same Faster1 who has the account on Chemical
Anarchy. Faster1 posted the following:

Post #1:

#1: I think the EPO would help the athlete get a couple of
#1: extra reps in training. I don't think there would be
#1: any direct perf. enhancement, unless the 100m is more
#1: aerobic than I think it is.
#1:
#1: In a 40 it might help a bit. Ben Johnson was supposed
#1: to be on Furazabol, a short acting anabolic I've seen
#1: on a couple of lists.
#1:
#1: I think GH, Insulin and EPO are the most widely used
#1: drugs in Olympic type sports (Tested) Endurance
#1: athletes are even using insulin for recovery.

Post #2:
#2: one word--EPO...

Post #3:
http://www.elitefitness.com/forum/showthread.php?p=2668623#post2668623
#3: Good luck--ask for big supply of ProCrit and email me.

CONCLUSION:
Something is fishy about Mr. Faster1 at Elite Fitness online. The web
site is focused on body building but this guy seems to be the expert on
EPO. Faster1 is also a strange name for a body builder but the perfect
online name for a very fast cyclist. Your Faster1 membership on Chemical
Anarchy is very suspicious since it does not look like the kind of forum
a clean cyclist would find useful information at. All and all the
research is very circumstantial and I am not sure it shows anything but
then again, you FAILED your drug test and were suspended from the sport
so nothing needs to be proven.

I think drug cheats suck. People that lie about being drug cheats suck
even worse. I hope that someday you admit the truth and move on to race
clean two years from now.

I don't know. I did see an installment of Insomniac on the comedy channel,
though, were what's-his-name walked into a pharmacy in Tijuana and bought
steroids, Tylenol with codeine, Viagra and a bunch of other **** just by
telling the pharmacist what he wanted.

I don't know if you'd be able to get injectables from a Mexican pharmacy,
though...

FWIW there are probably 20+ racers here in RBR who aren't cheating but
still know a lot more about EPO, GH, IGF than what you've quoted in the
posts above.

You get what you pay for. Ordering Viagra online is somewhat dodgy
these days...

Of course you can get injectables at a Mexican pharmacy.

Don't look at me - I didn't know what ED *was* until Ewoud brought it
up. Er, I mean - raised the subject. Er, I mean - I couldn't ignore
such a message coming from an upstanding member of this group.

Heck, you could probably sue for emotional distress if your wife ripped
into you..."YOU can't even get it up WITH VIAGRA!!!"

I didn't know that Ewoud had that effect on you, but hey, I'm just

Still trying to inject it are you?

**** for breath,

I'm SURE that they have them there, I just am not sure whether they'd give
them to any douchebag who walked in off the street.

Then again, it is Mexico, for crissakes.

WG- Faster1 (who has basically proven out to be the cyclist in
question) is not merely "chatting" about EPO and ProCrit. He is
advising his fellow forum mates on how to dose it. And if you
thoroughly read the website in question, it is unmistakenly a central
hub for those who trade information about illegal performace enhancing
drugs. For a cyclist who (publicly on Stolen Underground) states that
he is afraid of needles, I find it damning that he offers advice
specifically on how to use an injectible (one usually receives an
injectible from a medically trained person).

I can't believe how blind some of you choose to be.

Dumbass -

They let anyone who walks in buy them.

Avenida Revolucion (sp?) in Tijuana. A few things are there for the
touristas.

1) clubs and restaurants
2) strip clubs and bordellos
3) tons of pharmacies - every other storefront

The touristas go down there for all three. I can expound further if you
like.

Scrotum Suck,

Please expound on your knowledge of the sale of injectables to persons who
are not medical professionals in Mexico.

Thanks in advance

I did. So do these 20 people you speak of spend their free time
hanging out on bodybuilder websites trading advice on how to use EPO,
GH and other drugs? Do they ask people to PM them so they can get
more specific about dosing EPO? Also, the cyclist in question does
NOT have a reputation as being knowledgable about these substances.
Yet he seems to have practical experience.

What I said was that the information shown in the ng post about Faster1
was weak, and something that 20 other non-dopers here would also know.
If you have more damning information available you can share it if you
like, but if all you have is what you quoted you've got nothing.

Dumbass -

They don't have a prescription system like here in the US. AFAIK,
anyone can buy anything. Old people buy their painkillers there, AIDS
sufferers buy their stuff there, partyers get their Special K there,
body builders get their steroids there, cancer victims get their stuff
too which of course includes EPO.

People are busted all the time walking back across the border.

How do I know about this? I live in San Diego. It gets reported upon
from time to time. One of the Padres players (pro baseball) was busted
many years back coming back with all sorts of ****.

Also, one time, when down there for cheap lobster and beer w/ friends,
I went on a curiosity mission and asked where the cancer pharmacy was.
They had Eprex all right. $600 for a 2 week dosage. Expensive. I didn't
have $600 on me, didn't have an ice chest to transport it in, didn't
want to deal with smuggle something across the border and don't know
jack about injecting myself. So I didn't get any. Besides, it would
have been a waste of money. Spend $600 to try and win a crit where the
winner gets $300? And cheat (USCF rules) in the process, break the law
(smuggling across the border), risk one's health, lie to your friends,
etc. No thanks. But it's surprising how easy it would be. I think some
around here (and other border towns) have surely done it.
That enough for you, Mr. Two Guns?

Yeah, they have their own system. Most controlled drugs require a Rx, but
the system is easily corrupted. I recall hearing that the pharmacies will
work closely with the MDs that are often "script mills" (whose only purpose
is to generate revenue from the tourists looking for drugs).

Are you sure about that? I know there are some drugs that are not approved
by the FDA and some want them anyway and must go oversears. Laetrile comes
to mind, among others. I don't know why a cancer patient would go to Mexico
to get a drug like that when they can get it in the US with better quality
control.

You can bring some Rx drugs across if you show the Rx from the Mexican MD.
You are allowed by law to bring in a 90 days supply.

So I didn't get any. Besides, it would

Easy to score? Probably. Easy to use properly? Don't count on it.

I guess that shows how much you know about getting HGH or EPO?

There was an article in Outside magazine last Springs, writen by a bike
rider, who wanted to try these drugs to see if they helped him with
his PR.

Basically, he just went to an "anti-aging" doctor and got a prescription.
It's that hard. Why fool around with trying to smuggle drugs in the
country when all you have to do is open the yellow pages and find a
doctor? It's legal, and it's that easy.

He got Testosterone injections and cream, HGH, and EPO. If I recall correctly,
he said it turned him from a jackass to a racehorse?
