Colorado, taking final exams... where are you?...Oh, wait, that isn't what you meant. Actually, as a new member and frequent "lurker" I sometimes wonder the same thing but I figure that this site will be jumping once the racing season in Europe is in full swing.
Most of the folks on here are in Australia, right?
Lance Armstrong was just named man of the year by Sports Illustrated! Miracles do happen!

i've been tempted to post the same question a few times over the last week. Log on and see like 20 members on the site but no one replying to anything!!

perhaps we need some more controversial topics, a quick survey seems to reveal that a lot of the longer threads have very little to do with cycling ie wazats acronym game)

Its people who have visited over the last couple of hours. Most people lurk on forums for some reason.....it really annoys me.

Have a look at http://www.cyclingforums.com/index.php?board=;action=stats you'll see that traffic on the forum is OK, about 1,500 - 2000 pageviews per day, i'd like 4-500 posts per day ;D ;D.

A lot of the problem is that some of us stay logged in indefinitely so we always show logged in even when we aren't here (the height of laziness). Perhaps Admin should force everyone to log on again each day, thereby giving an accurate reflection of who is active at all times. Nogal we have a pretty representative worldwide audience so the number of members gets spread over 3 general time zones (SA/Europe, Australia and the Americas).

Hola, Compradres!

I've been hiding. But, I will be here and there. I guess I am a bit of a lurker myself.

And, yes....the cycling topics are great...but, this is "The Bike Cafe" man! With strict "non-cycling topics" instructions. But, then, I always got in trouble in elementary school for "student does not follow directions", "student is talkative in class", and "student is disruptive". MAN was elementary school boring....:)

I'll start a new thread....non-cycling related...and we will see who picks it up...

Hug and kisses to all! :-*

Just been in hospital for 5 days. A self inflicted "old guy" problem. Shows how an old human body is much like an old car taken to the garage, one thing leads to another. ::)
Ten days ago I went on an early 85km hilly ride. Same ride I've been doing twice a week past 6-8 months. No problem, in fact an easy ride except for a very strong, very cold, head wind on way back. Get home start violent shaking under hot shower. Doesn't stop so end up at Casualty on a drip! :'( 6 litres later I develop a fever and a bladder infection! :'( Then they pick up a prostate problem! ::)
So what went wrong? Apparently by not putting on a wind jacket when I got so cold (I've had heart surgery), not taking in enough fluid or carbo because of the cold, the combination sent me into shock. Because I'm doing such a high mileage at my age (73) without using supplements my auto immune system had become depleted. This left me open to any opportunistic infections around (same as AIDS) which my normally my immune system would have handled.
Advice: either cut down on the distances or use supplements. Also get a new saddle! So now I'm on supplements, Procydin and Biocharge AFR and have a new Specialised Body Geometry saddle. ;D
MAN! Sorry to hear that OT. But, glad that you are okay now and know what went wrong. Take care of yourself, man. And, I hope at your age, I'm ticking as well as you are!

And, I think petty joint problems suck! Afraid to see what that is like 49 years from now. (Yes, I am 24.) It will be scary.

There are many ways to avoid RSI (repetitive strain injury) in joints. also Glucosimine and other supliments are available to help in the treatment and prevention of this type of issue.
Thank You forreading.

I've been around a few times but for some strange reason when i try and post (99% of the time) it un-logs me! I've gone over a bunch of different possible causes with an admin and on my own and i'm not sure i've done anything.

i am not having this problem with any other forum site i visit.

strange.
