which ATB shifters work best with Shimano Sora 8-speed

I am wanting to change my road bike handlebars to flat ones and need to know which ATB shifters are the most compatible with Shimano Sora 8-speed derailluers. Any suggestions? Thanks.

for inspiration on the Shimano website. You need a special derailleur to use flatbar shifters. And you need new brake levers as well.

EDIT: You need SL-440-8, BR-440 and FD-440A-F if you want compatibility with the full Sora groupset.

Try SRAM shimano-compatible gripshifts (NOT the ones intended for use with SRAM derailleurs). The front shifter will be a ratcheted type (analagous to Campy Ergo), and the rear will have the appropriate pull ratio to work with Shimano derailleurs and SRAM/Shimano cassettes. Of course, you will need 8s shifters.
