which fruit for recvoery?



Within 30 minutes after workouts, right after I take off my chamois, but before I shower, I have a big bowl of granola, non fat yogurt and cut up bananas. The granola and yogurt can get old pretty fast and the banana helps to break that up. It's important to eat right after a ride, because at that time your body is capable of absorbing several times more protein, carbohydrates and fat than at any other time. This helps a lot with recovery, as your muscles get what they need to begin the healing process very quickly.
 
I usualy have a giant cup of soda from the minimart. That's my recovery. Then I eat a sandwich.
 
Bananas don't digest quickly unless they are a little over ripe. Therefore to get the goodness of fruits into your system quickly, citrus are the fastest. Take your banana after the orange (fresh juice).

bananas are starchy. they're linked to weight gain for some unknown reason.
 
Well, banana is probably best, but in the summer I do find it hard to resist a huge slice of chilled watermelon in the middle of the afternoon. That makes me very, very happy. :D
