Who should go to worlds in U23's?
I saw that the Ian kid was 13mins back in his first race in europe.
If he can not race with some of the best U23's, what would happen if
he raced with all of them at the World Championships?

    Hey John,

THAT WAS IAN'S VERY FIRST RACE IN EUROPE. HAVE YOU EVER RACED IN EUROPE? IT'S VERY VERY DIFFERENT THAN IN THE US. I'M SURE IT WASN'T A SELECTIVE RACE...MORE OF A POSITION RACE LIKE ALL THE FLAT WINDY RACE IN BELGIUM. WORLDS IS A SECLECTION RACE WITH A NICE HILL. HE WILL EXCEL.

    NOW GO RIDE YOUR BIKE!

you should judge someone on their good results not their lousy ones.

particulary if you don't know what happened in this race. mishap ?
maybe he was in an early break ? maybe he missed the critical move and
fried himself in the chase ? maybe he had some other objective besides
    a top result ?

finish order certainly doesn't tell you everything about how strong
    someone is.

Not a comment Ian's performance, but the Tryptique des Barrages is
definitely not flat. It was windy on the weekend though.
