For about the last 18 months or so, I've noticed that whenever I bump a
boney part of my body (e.g., shin, knuckles of my hand) that the pain is
more intense than I remember in the past and the hurting lasts longer than I
expect (for several weeks to over a month). For example, I bumped the
knuckle of my thumb on my right hand several times (not real hard) while
cleaning the fiberglass tub in my apartment. This knuckle has been hurting
on and off for over a month now. What would this be a sign of -
Osteoporosis or Arthritis or ...? I've been taking a Calcium supplement and
Glucosamine Sulfate with MSM but don't notice a difference (however, I
haven't been taking 3 per day as recommended). I've been mostly a vegan for
the last 8-10 years. I don't know if that has anything to do with it.
About 3-4 years ago, a bone density test revealed that I was about 18% below
average for my age (50 at the time).
Other health problems that I am experiencing are:
passing a lot of gas
frozen shoulder (about 2 years ago)
tennis elbow injury (about 3-4 years ago)
poor memory
acute laborinthitis (dizziness and lack of balance about 2 years ago)
Are these problems related to a particular nutritional deficiency? Any
advice or suggestions would be appreciated. Thanks!
P.S. I do exercise (jog + upper body exercise) several times a week.
