[censored], that was tough. First time over that distance
for me (total mileage for the day 139 miles). Longest day in
the saddle too, 12 hrs - thankyou Brooks. I don't know what
the total height climbed was for this year's course, but it
seemed like miles and miles and miles. The day was very well
organised by the IVCA - I can recommend this ride to anyone
who wants a challenge next year - they even got good weather
in. I'll also remember it for my first clipless "incident" -
near the bottom of a shallow descent, round a left hand bend
I came upon a tractor pulling out across the road from a
field on the left. Feeling fairly smug at having managed to
stop safely, I waved him on and then toppled into the
hedgerow. It cheered the driver up at least.
