Hello Race Fans!

Thought we would check in with ya'll and let you know that there have been a couple of changes to
the WIM season schedule since we last emailed you. The dates haven't changed...just a couple of
locations. The updated schedule is attached. Unfortunately, we have not been successful in getting
permission from Plum Creek Lumber in Cle Elum to use their land again this year, so our Roslyn race
is out for now. We know it was a favorite, and will keep trying, but it won't happen this year. In
addition, we've been told that Steilacoom Park is not available to use for our races as well....so
we had to make some changes. We'd like to draw your attention to a few exciting things regarding the
upcoming season.

Chelan - We have been given permission to build a new cross country trail by the Forest Service. So
for all of you who indicated that this was important to you, we will have a new and interesting
course for you! Special thanks to Stacy Henry and Michael Lawrence for their efforts in working out
the details!

Battle in Seattle - We will have a new course at south Seatac thanks to Captain Monroe and
Kevin Hornback.

Greenwater Killer - A new course just outside of Enumclaw...thanks to Randy Iddings for his help in
finding this one!

Olympic Meltdown - Port Angeles welcomes us back for both a cross country and downhill. The cross
country is in a different location than last year, due to parking limitations. And we've added a
downhill! Make sure to book your rooms early, as our event is the same weekend as "Jazz in the
Olympics" and will be a busy weekend for them. We'll have a host hotel listed on our website soon.

Beacon Bomber - New downhill course!

NORBA Nationals - And don't forget to mark your calendars for the NORBA Nationals coming to
Schweitzer Mt. Resort, July 24-27th!!

Our website is in the process of being updated for the upcoming season and detailed info will soon
be available on all of our events.

SEASON PASSES FOR THE WIM SERIES WILL BE AVAILABLE UNTIL FEBRUARY 28TH!! GO TO ROUNDANDROUND.COM
TO SIGN UP!!

Here are some other things happening in your northwest mountain bike world that might be of
interest to you:

BLAZING SADDLES CHILI RIDE - Round & Round kicks off the mt bike season with a fun mountain bike
ride on February 23rd in Spokane at Riverside State Park. Starts at noon. Two categories, racers and
non-racers. Free chili for all at Tim Arnold's "Garage Majal" afterwards. Registrations available

on this race February 23rd in Tacoma....check out their website at JF2racing.com for details. Cross
Country MTB race, Sunday March 16th, 2003 at 11:00 AM in Hells Gate State Park, Lewiston, Idaho. (
Lewiston is warmer and dryer than Spokane!!!) NORBA sanctioned. More info: Web site-
myweb.cableone.net/petebeall// or e-mail [email protected] Put on by the local cycling club Twin
Rivers Cyclists. The course has 700' elevation/lap and challenging rock areas. This should be a good
"tune up" race for the upcoming WIM series.
