Van Avermaet had crashed out ahead of him after being clipped by a chaser motobike. And TV coverage had dropped. So I guess he was not sure he had the lead at the line. Kind of funny to see him crossing talking on his phone trying to work it out.
Any way, a good win for the Brit and great performance on the climb when he cleared the pack.
