  1. I did my first sprint distance triathlon in late May and then went on a week
long cruise with my family, got an upper respiratory infection after the
trip and took three weeks to recovery. I got my strength back, but I don't
feel like I'm 100%. All of my workouts are flat whether it's a swim, run or
bike. I had my blood checked about a month ago and everything looks good. I
haven't changed my diet so it's not that. I did notice that my resting HR
has been around 53. Before May it was 45 if that makes any difference. Been
    having trouble falling asleep too.
Maybe it's the Texas heat, but even indoor and early morning workouts are
    flat.
    Any suggestions?
    Carlton.

No suggestions from here. However I had the beginnings of
pneumonia in January - just I was setting PRs in the swim.
It took me three weeks to fight the cold (and no working
out) and then it took me another three weeks to get to where
I was before I started my swim focus. You guessed it, three
weeks after that I was finally back to my "PR" speeds.
(Total of 9 weeks from the time I caught my cold)

It would be nice to have instant recovery from a major cold,
but it just doesn't work that way. The best thing to do IMO
is to realize where you ARE not where you've been - and then
    train forward.

(See my earlier post "Pneumonia sucks ass"😉
