It is impressive. But also somewhat less meaningful than it
looks. The guy who wins the World TT championship is the TT
specialist who (a) cares and (b) has good form at the butt-end
of the year. Not necessarily the best TT-ist on a yearlong
basis. Rogers hasn't had a great year, apart from coming 2nd
in the Tour de Suisse, which shows he might turn into a GC man
eventually, though he has yet to do really well in a three
week tour. He didn't win anything this year and I don't think
he placed high in any Grand Tour TTs, which is something you
might hope he could do. None of this is to demean Rogers.
But even he would probably admit he'd rather have a TT win in July.
