    As in any ever-growing bureaucracy, after a while the
    participants tend to be self-promoting and aggrandizing,
    accumulating size and momentum like a snowball rolling
    downhill. The FDA apparently is no exception, judging from
    their recent whitepaper titled Innovation or Stagnation:

    I'm only half-way done reading it myself, but it apparently
    promotes the rather self-serving viewpoint that More Is
    Better, and glosses over serious issues like promoting
    Health and holistic global Quality of Life. Do we need our
    tax dollars promoting the medical-industrial complex?
