  1. Hi, can anybody tell me if I buy a xt hub will a hg 70 8 speed cassette fit on it? Will it take either a 8 or 9? Could a few people reply please as I have seen conflickting information. Thanks.

  2. Yes, a xt hub is made for 8 & 9 speed.

    Current models of XT hub (M760 & M765) mount either 8 speed HG or 9 speed cassettes.
    There still are some very old (about 15 years) XT hubs that are seven speed HG or UG. These old hubs won't mount 8 or 9 speed cassettes.
