.....as Bruce Forsyth used to say on "Play Your Cards Right".
Why the odd subject title? Well, I've just been given a Campag Veloce
front hub, and am looking to build up a pair of training wheels. But -
where can I get a rear hub on a budget and, more importantly, on its
own (threaded or cassette, not too fussy about that)? Just about
everywhere I've looked seems to sell hubs as pairs (and unwilling to
split them) these days. I thought Settle Cycles had the answer in the
shape of a rear Sachs 5000 offering (a pretty good hub) on its own for
just thirteen quid, but it turns out that the web site hasn't been
updated of late and they've finally sold all their stocks :-(
So, if anyone can point me to a good mail order specialist (I've tried
SJS, but nothing to suit), or has an 2nd-hand rear hub in good nick, or
an unused one (must be Q/R and 130mm OLN, otherwise no real
restrictions), that they're looking to sell, drop me a line - preferred
e-mail is deb107_york(at)btinternet(dot)com. All feedback very welcome,
as usual.
Many thanks,
