My current bike consists of the original bars and shifters and the seat
post. Everything else including frame has been replaced. With me it's a
matter of "that looks nice" in the shop without actually realising just
how much of it needs replacing. If I had my time again I would just
have the bike built to order, even though it costs a lot more than off
the shelf. I have managed to build and sell various bikes with the
cast-offs.
