That other thread got me thinking. DAMN! I hate it when that happens.
1) W. C. Fields
2) Marx Brothers
3) Dave Allen
4) Denny Johnston-Where are you?
5) Stan & Ollie
6) Lesile Nielson-if you haven't seen "Police Squad" the TV series, DO IT NOW!
7) Spike Milligan
8) Phil Silvers
9) Peter Sellers
10) Moses Howard, Larry Fine, Jerome Howard-think about it.

Like the movie list, I could turn this into a top 50 and still have names left. And some of the names could change daily.

If you take life too seriously, I'll laugh at you.

George Carlin
Richard Pryor
Lenny Bruce
Rodney Dangerfield
Johnathan Winter's
The Monty Python crew
Don Rickles
Marx Bros.
3 Stooges
Dave Chapelle

David Chapelle
Richard Jeni
Dennis Leary
George Carlin
Chris Farley (RIP)
Sam Kineson
Rita Rudner
Richard Pryor
Eddie Murphy (Old School Eddie) - Days of RAW
Bill Cosby

Chris Farley is/was one of my favorite's, to be sure. From the same show, would have to include Michael Myers/Dr. Evil (Canada) & Chris Kattan (American)

Yeah...of all of those guys that came out of SNL he is my fav...I really love watching re-runs of old SNL shows with him...I get so ****** from time to time when I think about the great comedians/actors that the world lost to drugs (Belushi, Farley, Kineson...etc) and it just breaks my heart...

Peter Sellars
Bernard Manning
Colin Crompton
The Marx Bros.
Tommy Cooper
John Cleese
Morecombe & Wise
The Fast Show (Paul Whitehouse)
Avid Merrion

Really, don't we have enough "top 10" threads already?

Anyway, I think Leslie Nielsen is a complete moron.

I was thinking the same b4 I posted my reply. I just had a "brainstorm" Let's start a thread entitled:

"Top 10 reasons for NOT starting a top 10 list of anything."

1) It is a one size fit's all proposition, as if every discussion can be distilled down to 10 item's.
2) It is a worn out format.
3) It compel's people to needlessly shorten or lengthen thier list, leaving off good candidates & keeping bad one's.
4) It is copyrighted by "The David Letterman Show".
5) It "dumb's down" the discussion by limiting responses to one sentence, or fragmentary, "blurb's".
6) It presupposes that there are 10 & not 9 or 11, ect...
7) It create's "clones" which all seem annoyingly alike regardless of thier topic's.
8) It's "sophmoric" in it's simplicity.
9) It appears too "playful".
10) Some of us can't count that high [had to come up w/ "something" for #10  ]

All of this presupposing ONE caveat: I Do believe that we should have ONE MORE "top ten" thread & it should be entitled: "Why Pres. Bush should be impeached and indicted along w/ his entire cabinet & the whitehouse cleaned & deloused." :D

This from someone with a "Top ten people I hate list," with numbered  's.

And Leslie Nielsen thinks you're a moron as well.:p

"Lighten up, Francis."

I guess we're even then...

Anyway, surely he couldn't get through American grade school with the name Leslie... I wonder what they called him, or what his nickname was.

OR... is this commonly accepted as a unisex name?

He's Canadian. I don't know what is considered unisex names in Canada. He probably had to either fight or make the other kids laugh. And I remember reading that his father was a Mountie, so I'm sure he got some razzing about that.

Jerry Sadowitz
Reeves/Mortimer (Vic Reeves Big night out, not the newer shite)
Rik Mayall/Adrian Edmondson - Bottom
Rowan Atkinson (everything except Mr Bean)
Newman and Baddiel
Gregor Fisher...yes i think he is funny...
John Cleese
Spike Milligan
Frank Kelly (his work before Father Ted is pure classic)...
Ronnie Barker..

man, there are two many..

I don't have a "Top 10". I find a lot of comedians funny. Some of my favorites include:

Michael Richards as Kramer. That has to be one of the best characters IMO that has been on TV. The other characters of Seinfeld are also good.

Will Ferrel was pretty darn funny on Anchor Man, but not nearly as funny as he was on the Blooper Extras. I actually cried I laughed so much. In fact, I'm remembering one of them right now and am laughing! :D

Some of Dave Chappel's stuff is funny, though I wouldn't call him one of my favorites. The Charlie Murphy Hollywood Stories are pretty entertaining.

Some TV shows that have good comic actors include: Friends, Everybody Loves Ramond, . . . . . Stargate (you know, sometimes Richard Dean Anderson has some funny lines).
