Moot point since Bing Han Refined Ginseng Powder is now legally sold in the
U.S.
You keep claiming that this product had a serious problem. But that is in
fact a lie.
If you go back and look at the report of the ginseng pesticide residue you
will note
that these chemicals are the only ones on this page with asterisks.

*Pentachlorobenzene
*Tetrachloroanilin
*Hexachlorobenzene
*BHC
*Pentachloroaniline
*Tecnazene
*Pentachlorothioanisole

*** This alert is being revised to reflect updated format and to correct the
charge.***

http://www.fda.gov/ora/fiars/ora_import_ia9908.html

The update was that the FDA had just adjusted downward the amount of this
"residue"
that was acceptable. This product was acceptable and now crossed over. The
new level
is the lowest in the world. All other countries, including Canada find this
level to be safe.
If you think that Tim Bolens conspiracy theory is correct, then that might
provide a clue
as to the truth.

The greatest irony of all is that this ginseng is the most powerful
detoxifier on our
planet. We eat it to detoxify our bodies from all the pesticides and many,
many other
toxic chemicals we get in our food supply.

Only those shipments that get past the FDA's testing process, though.

No lie. The blocked shipments had some very toxic chlorinated hydrocarbons
in them.

These pesticides are so toxic that their use in this country is now banned.
Lowering the acceptable levels of them in imported products is logical, and
a GOOD thing. I don't use ginseng myself, but if I did, I would buy the
American product, grown where these poisons are no longer used.

If you think that any of Tim Bolen's theories are correct, then you don't
have a clue as to the truth.

Sales hype. You have no evidence that ginseng has any role in the removal of
any toxin from the human body. The prize for "most powerful detoxifier on
our planet" goes hands down to [drum roll, please] WATER. It is what keeps
the kidneys going to remove toxins from our bodies, and in fact, it
detoxifies the planet itself.

Other than water, there is no universal "detoxifier." Chemical intoxication
must be diagnosed and treated on a toxin specific basis. Eating stuff out of
a paranoid fear that we are being poisoned by our food is silly. If indeed
we were getting toxic levels of "chemicals" in our foods, wouldn't it make
more sense to eliminate those toxins than to consume pesticide contaminated
supplements in the misguided hope that those supplements have the power to
"detoxify"?

The so-called moot point is, in fact, a fact:

Ginseng Bing Han Medical Factory Quintozene 3/13/2001
(Powdered) 81, Cherng Gong Street *Pentachlorobenzene
211-9414883-5 Ell Jeun Village, Taiwan *Tetrachloroaniline
I290230/120531 FEI# 3003196781 *Hexachlorobenzene
54F[]R12 - SEA *BHC
Shipper: Bing Han (Canada) *Pentachloroaniline
Enterprises. Ltd. *Tecnazene
210-7911 Alderbridge Way *Pentachlorothioanisole
Richmond B.C., Canada
FEI# 3003196782

That Bung Hole Ginseng is pesticide coated, toxin enriched, and carcinogen
fortified. The fact that you claim it to be unprocessed, grown organically,
and recommend it for internal use is unconciensable.

You are a Spamming Bag of Steaming feces in addition to being a pathological
liar, and an MLM sales-clown.

You truly make my heart sad for you. You are gonna' get sick and never even
know why. After being given so much information to help you. In my world
we recognize this as being on the wrong path. You may come to understand
my wakeup call for yourself.

IN "your world??" what a joke...is that the world on the higher plane where
education is not needed?? just a "belief"..

Davey ...you are an MLM pimp's delight...you are stupid enuf to believe the
unbelievable...

sad that
hawki

The "concern" that the Quackwatch flunkies keep raising is a "tempest
in a teapot". As they would say, we have policed ourselves and adjusted
the product to suit the U.S. only, safety standards. Here's what
happened....

http://www.itmonline.org/arts/quintozene.htm

Quintozene, sometimes referred to as PCNB (for pentachloronitrobenzene), is
a commonly applied fungicidal treatment for control of a garden rot that
affects many plants during cool, wet months. It has been widely used to
protect ginseng crops; until recently, those involved in marketing the crops
and producing finished products were unaware of its use. Beginning in 1998,
tests conducted in the U.S. showed that some imported ginseng roots had
detectable residues of this fungicide. While quintozene is permitted for
American ginseng cultivation in Canada, it is not registered for use in
American ginseng cultivation in the U.S.

The U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) currently describes
quintozene as a potential health hazard, given its widespread use on a
multitude of crops, which leads to potential for cumulative exposure. While
the amounts detected in the ginseng roots did not lead to a product recall
because both government officials and industry leaders agreed that the
amounts posed no health threat, steps have been taken to remove quintozene
from the supply of imported ginseng.
