Another Bad thing

Cycling (what else) toward Bradford (yes, I know) bloke comes out of a works
gate in front of me, I have to brake heavily, call him "*******", tootle my
bulb horn at him and continue. He continues to Dewsbury (opposite direction
, behind me).

Few minutes later a roar of car engine (accelarating) and this (presumably)
same bloke comes past me at speed and VERY close, I give him a "V".

After next junction a geezer's out of his car, talking loudly at me and I
indicate to following traffic that I "need" to take the other side of this
REALLY wide road - also to draw attention to myself. And to moan. And to
grumble about can't have my next two small holidays including one to
Flanders Tour.

Following which I don't honestly know nothing. But I have had a night in
hospital, 10 days and counting off work, a bust collarbone, jaw broken in
two places, concussion for 1+ hours, fingermarks on my throat, huge bruising
on chest (one purple ***, one normal), a broken/ lost dental plate.

This man was arrested, bailed until March, loads of witnesses, presumably
motorists.

I just wrote this here to tell you. Will take yet more legal on Monday.

For all this moaning I still don't feel too much better.

Jeezzzeus!

I hope the man is sent down for a very long time - it sounds like
wounding with intent to cause grevious bodily harm which carries a
maximum of life imprisonment.

The crime probably falls short of attempted murder, and certainly
sounds worse than wounding or inflicting grievious bodily harm which
carries up to 6 years imprisonment.

Ouch. From the title I thought this was going to be a mini-rant about
p*nctures or eternal headwinds or something. Glad you're sort of okay-ish
and not worse off.

Get well soon. I'm stunned.

JH Christ. Hope you feel better soon, and don't forget to sue that *******
for every penny he's got. And every penny his relatives have got as well.
And when you've finished with them, check his friends, assuming he's got
any.

Ow. Get well soon. And don't forget to take advice on a civil suit to
follow up the criminal proceedings.

Many thanks all of what replied.
I'm drawing encouragement from this - really.
Sadly with the state of our nicks right now I can't seethis bloke going
behind at all.
I'll tell you al what occurs - when it occurs.

you must keep pressing the police for results with frequent inquiries
and take it further up if they are trying to ignore it.
I immediately recall two cases: 1.a doctor (not me) had words with a
woman in a 4x4 then several days later her husband staked out the
surgery, forced him of his bike with a car then beat him about the
face with visible injuries. He assumed the police were investigating as
they said they were , then it ran out of time and the case was
abandoned. 2. a woman assaulted many times by a serious psychopath
had to get the police complaints people involved before any proper
investigation started.
In both cases the criminals were friends of local policemen. My
personal experience has been very different, however , and I hope
yours will also be. I am just saying do not assume they are on the
case.

Unfortunately, these types of scrotes seem to get together without
much trouble.

Get well soon, John.

Very best of wishes, John - that sounds a truly appalling assault. We've
read about too many of them on this group recently but yours takes the
biscuit.

I trust you'll be forwarding an account of your experience to Mr Matthew
Parris, with your thanks to him for encouraging this sort of behaviour?

Please also let us know the outcomes - both medical and legal.

Oh my God, that is a flipping terrifying story. Sounds like a true
psychopath, from the sounds of things he will get sent down.

Collar bones are buggers, can't be plastered, I had a figure-of-eight
bandage for a few weeks.

Take care, hope you feel better soon.

I got bored of my sling in a few days, I just couldn't do anything
with it on and the knot against my neck was the only pain I was
suffering. The bone still set within 3 weeks, and I took a further 2
to get the mobility back. John has more to think about than a collar
bone, though.

Ow. I've done a jaw and it's no fun. You'll eat a lot of porridge over the
next month - but, I trust, not nearly as much as the perp will over the
next few years.

Today is Stilday, February - a weekend.

Made a statement in Dewsbury Police station today.
Took all morning, will tell all when it seems right - but they appear to be
positive about this affair.
