Simplistic riding technique question

Since it's likely to be another 4 months before there's any point in
going to a local shop that sells bents, I thought I'd pose this: how
does a trike corner? Does the frame part where the rider sits pivot?
Otherwise I see it as being like a motorcycle/sidecar or trike design
where you have to slow down in corners so you don't lift the outside
wheel.
If it pivots, how prone to failure or maintenance issues is that
joint? Anyone got a close up pic of that part of the frame?

Not on any production trikes I am aware of, besides the Flevo-Trike [1]
and Organic Engines SUV cargo trike [2], which are rarities.

The inside wheel is the one that would lift.

The proper technique is to lean the upper to the inside while turning.
Quite high cornering speed are possible, depending on seat height.

Why would you want to wait for 4 months? I go to the bike shops here
on a pretty regular basis. It's a good time to go as the shops are a
little slow and they have time to answer questions. Also, you can
sometimes get a better deal on a new ride now as opposed to waiting.

I have a Sun Tadpole that does NOT swivel and I don't have problems
cornering. I just shift my weight a little. Not a big deal actually.

What I meant is that it wouldn't be possible for me to test ride a
bike. But your point about asking questions and seeing what their
stock is like is well-taken. No test rides for this guy, though. With
wind chill at -14 lately, not my idea of a day in the park.

Like your pictures though. I hadn't seen the ones of you in the snow
before, but I had seen your others.

Thanks for the Compliment!!!! Don't know where you are but couldn't
you take a quick ride around the block when the temp is a little
warmer???? At least yo would get a "feel" for what you may or may not
like.

I dress quite warm for the chill here. I have been out when it's been
single digits with a windchill below zero and STILL cracked a sweat.

Also on the Flevobikeusa website. Whether this indicates a saturation of
the market for FWD, moving BB recumbents, or if Flevobike was yet
another manufacturer done in by under-capitalization and cash flow
problems is not determined.
