I thought about big bike tours today while out riding. I am just reaching 4000 miles so far this year and have not gone anywhere.

The difference is that while some folk are out riding tours I am out working a full time job pitching in at the ponderosa and raising my family. I am enjoying my journey it is self supported.

Man, 4000 miles on an indoor trainer had to suck massively. You should have pedaled outside on your bike so that you could have gone somewhere instead of being stationary in a room, on a trainer.

You can do four thousand miles during the year if you do it regularly. 10-15 miles a day is not enough. I do 20-25 miles when go to the countryside on weekends and I think if I do it regularly, I can do more than 2000 miles.
