I have a mid-90's GT mountain bike, model LTS-5, that has a funky elastomer rear shock on it. It's been in the process of tearing in a couple of places, and a particularly hard endo the other afternoon finished the job. Does anybody have suggestions as to what I could use to replace it? An actual replacement part is just about impossible to find...the way the original mounts to the frame almost eliminates the possiblity of using a conventional coil-over shock. Anybody else have/had an LTS-5 and had this problem and willing to share a solution? I love the bike and hate to set it aside due to the failure of such a small part...
