E2E/LEJOG stuff on the CTC site

Joined up, logged in and have been merily reading away at
all sorts of things from the CTC site, but the search thingy
refuses to bring up anything about LEJOGs. Can get
absolutely everything else apart from this. Is the e2e pack
only available through the post?

(apologies for asking you lot instead of CTC, but presume
they aren't at work at 7.40 :)

The E2E pack has a cost and is only available through the
post once you've paid for it. There are three routes if my
memory serves me correctly, possibly: scenic, YHA based and
B&B based..

IIRC the E2E pack is only available by post but costs
nothing to members - I have it somewhere and again IIRC the
routes are not brilliant - best route I found was in the
book published by Epic in New Zealand - Google will find
it.

That's the one ! - excellent guide.

We are planning an E2E for May 2005, a leisurely 20 days
doing B&B or pubs - we're working on a route to try and
blend the best of the published routes into one that is
pleasant and doesn't have too many silly hills!

There is also a book published by Cicerone that isn't bad -
and there's an E2E route at the back of the Lonely Planet
Cycling Britain book.

If you want to keep tabs on our planned route then go to
www.shalespokes.org.uk and send me an e-mail and I'll
respond (I will not publish my e-mail, the address in the NG
postings is spoofed to stop spammers)

Is that up? Cant open the page (cannot find server)

I am looking at doing one next June so will be interested in
your route. Thinking of doing one of those organised ones
where there is a driver to ferry your stuff.

I thumbed through the Lonely Planet book in Waterstones and
was really dissappointed to see they'd printed at least one
of the maps wrong. The one in the Yorkshire Dales was a
mirror image of what it should be though the annotations
were right.

My wife bought me the Epic Guide, it is unlikely I'll follow
their route, perhaps sections though.

oops, typo - the URL is www.shakespokes.org.uk (i.e. K not
L) - we are cyclists in Stratford-upon-Avon ... thus
Shakespeare + spokes .... geddit!
