like what is Cat 5, Cat 4, etc., Cat 1 what do they all mean? different speeds? distance?
If so what is the average racing speed for these levels on flat courses

I understand that it all depends on the race but there has to be some sort of range. Also, how does someone go about getting into a race. Is it always teams? or are there individual races? I know I have a lot of questions but I'm new...thanks for any responses
