  1. I'm thinking about riding through the Navajo Indian Reservation in NE Arizona. Can anyone tell me what it's like riding those roads. I've heard they're very dangerous and not recommended because the reservations have their own laws. But then I've also heard that they're very friendly and supportive. What do you think?

You might want to post a letter to the tribal authority to introduce yourself and ask for suggestions. I think that if you approach it from the standpoint of having previously established a relationship with the powers that be, you will find a warm welcome.

I friend of mine related his stories of hiking in the Hopi areas of Nevada (or maybe Arizona), and said this approach opened doors for him.
