  1. Just a thought - has anyone here ever gone through a "drive thru" on a
    bicycle?

never even used one in a car; was told it was quicker to park and walk
in, also means you are not left with a pile of smelly litter in your
car (which does not seem to be an issue for many Mcdrive customers in
my area who simply lob it out of the window)

Apparently they wanted to put a big illuminated yellow M outside their
Champs Elysees branch, to be told their was a Parisian by-law banning
coloured sigs; so they took Paris to court (and of course lost) and now
have a white M, the only one in the world AFAIK. I reckon they made
    the by-law bit up!

The one in Stratford on Avon is a tasteful brown to blend in with the
local architecture. Paris is not the only place where they have changed
    the colour.

Did you see "They think its all over"? Wondering when the other half of
the Big M would be completed at Wembley Stadium ;-)

    I haven't but here's my McDonalds experience:

Riding back from Conwy to Nottingham earlier this summer, I was passing through Congleton (I think that's where it was) and needed a re-fuelling stop. Nearest place was a McD, not my first choice but it was the best I could do at the time.

I got a coffee and a couple of doughnuts (or is it donuts?) and, I have to admit, it was jolly nice.

I sat outside in the blazing sunshine and watched as a succession of car drivers came through, stopped at the little window, ordered their McWhatever and then parked in their designated space and waited (in their cars, in the heat) for their food to arrive. When it did they sat and ate (in their cars, in the heat) and then they drove off.

As I sat, I wondered if they had just driven from home to get this experience. I then wondered if they had a TV in their garage so they could just drive in and watch telly though the windscreen.

I put these thoughts to one side, climbed back on my bike and pedalled off into the countryside.

Epilogue: Two miles up the road the caffeine overdose from the large McCoffee hit me and my heart rate shot up. I was becoming paranoid about my high heart rate so I disconnected my HRM and kept going.
