And if/when found out, his name will be made mud in the press, and his
future will be questioned?

common that he had some reason to expect not to be found out.

I'm guessing that the new technology just caught up with doping tricks for
TH and some of the other pros, as evidenced by the rash of 'illnesses' and
dropouts.

For instance in the case of blood doping by transfusion, perhaps the
technology had improved to the point where the 1 in a million cells left
over from the transfusion can now be definitively detected, given the
sample size, and other variables. Again, just a guess, but it seems to make
sense. Sad to hear it, as TH is just about everyone's emotional favorite.

When you are competing with people who are later found to be on gear,
and winning, there has to be a very strong suspicion, yes.
