I have a RM element purchased in 2001, mainly XT, marzocchi z2 (xc fork) and fox at the rear. The bike needs a new headset (ritchey?cane creek? king?), probably new cables, new brake pads etc, all in all within few hundreds US.
I have been following the developments in suspensions, and I am tempted by this pro pedal thing, now fox has also one front as well with some kind of pro pedal tech, without any locking devices (that I ear from people don't work in the mud that well).
I ride about 6,000miles p.a. doing approx 20 marathons so the bike has been getting a fair share of knock, but still going very well apart from the noise that most RM makes around the back suspension...will have this been improved on the new model?
The dilemma is: to spend around 1,000-1,500 max to upgrade or to trade in (getting less than 1,000 for it) and pay up say 2,000-3,000 cash difference and get a brand new RM 2005 with the latest suspensions, top mavic SL wheels etc. Basically paying double but having a new frame as well.
