Look closely and you will see a 6mm hex-head nut --
He's american, it's a 3/8 bolt.
I've been looking in vain for a mention of patella straps on this
newsgroup. This 'looseness' complaint emboldens me to discuss them.

Maybe they're so widely used that nobody even talks about them?
I'm really not a runner like you guys, I just dabble a short while on
the treadmill to get my heart to the advisable max for a short period.
(I have bradycardia and the firing mechanism is lazy).
To get back to my knees, in 1989 I had my first session of a sudden
pain in my knee, I was getting something out of car trunk at the time.
It was BAD. But after I limped back to my motel and laid down for
about an hour, when I arose the knee felt like there never had been
anything wrong with it. Since that time I've dealt with this mystery
in both knees, periodically. Usually I'd wear an elastic bandage for a
few days after a knee messed up till it felt stronger again. I
complained to several doctors and got mystified looks. Possibly I'm
really from another planet (maybe Krypton?) and not related to [censored]
sapiens at all, thus the medicos are justified in their incredulity?
Anyway, just a few months ago I was browsing medical equipment on the
web and saw these patella strap gadgets. While I still felt flush I
spent about $40 on two of them. Voila, no more mysterious,
suddenly-appearing, suddenly-disappearing knee indications.
Does anyone else have a similar story?
