I recently ran a 1/2 marathon wearing compression shorts. I felt that they definitely reduced leg muscle fatigue, and allowed me to finish stronger than I ever have at that distance. I know that world class track and field athletes wear compression shorts and body suits, but why don't you ever see world class marathoners wear them?
I think a lot of runners wear compression shorts because their legs rub together while they run. Most people that are not more than 10 pounds overweight will not need compression shorts.

It happens to me, and I'd like to find a better way than vaseline. Do these work? WTF are they? Just tight shorts?
They are just like cycling shorts without the chamois pad in the crotch. They're made of lycra/spandex, and reach just above the knee. New Balance, Brooks, Nike(your fave), Asics and countless others make these shorts. Some are made of thicker material than others. Some are too thin to provide the compression effect. I honestly felt that they made a significant difference in my running.

For days I'm not on my period???

Hmm, thanks for the advice, I'll look into these (figuratively of course...)
