What would be a result of a half marathon where you would not start
laughing and saying "that person should never have run it"? Say, 5
hours is probably pathetic. How about, say, 2.5 hours? Or 2 hrs 15
    min?

    i

1:25 is the cutoff of respectability and pathetic.

  2. The guy who mentioned people dropping dead reminds me of a funny story. I
enjoy dirt track races and years ago I was at a race and at intermission the
track promotor decided to have a one lap foot race. He put up a hundred dollar
prize and it was a 1/4 mile track. Old fools (young fools too) came out of the
stands you wouldn't believe, fat, cigarettes hanging out of their mouth, combat
boots, you know the crowd. Anyway one idiot collapsed on the track and the
ambulance had to haul him out. Needless to say that was the last time the
    track promotor tried that.

Do you adjust for sex, age and altitude?

Yes, I am slower when I get in the mile high club with a young woman.
