I suddenly have a problem with my left achilles after my last run
which was now 5 days ago 🙁 . Especially for the two days after it
felt irritated with a burning sensation.
After searching out for some advice I found that the problem may come
from knots in the calf muscle which are hopefully cured with some
rolling of the calf to massage it. I tried the roll with my calf on a
gel keyboard wrist rest at the edge of my desk while I sat in a chair.
As I rolled (lower half of calf) I came across resistence in a hard
lump, this was very painfull as the weight went fully onto it and sort
of fell off not rolled off as I roled to the other side. Afterwards
when I raised my toes to the knee stretching this area that area feels
stiff and sore, a bit like doms.
The question is, is this structure a knot or not? Am I doing the right
thing? How much pain should I allow? How often should I do it? Should
I continue to stretch while doing this? When should I run again?
Anything else I should be doing?
Thanks for suitable advice.
