Washed-out Weekent but great discovery!

Mooching around Betwys on Saturday I decided to buy pair of Paramo boxer
shorts. And wow. These are by far the best synthetic boxers I have worn,

Dry Flo. In fact, these were so good that I went back this afternoon and
bought another two pairs to take with me to the Pyrenees.

These are amazing. OK £15 is quite a bot to pay for boxers, but then these
are really the business. There are ladies briefs as well. And they are
reversible - one side warmer and the other cooler.

So, a completely [censored] walking weekend but a great new find; pass it on.

Aren't the Lowe ones much good then?

Well, this is Britain and it was Snowdonia. On Thursday the forecast from
the Met office Snowdonia site was good. On Saturday the forecast at
Pen-y-Pas said (for Sunday) 'changeable - rain will never be far away'.
Well I suppose that last comment wasn't far off. It was as wet and windy as
it was at New Year!

week. My daughter was at a horse show - it rained so much that all the

I ended up watching a community donkey derby and fete at Betwys. I really
felt for them, they tried so hard in the driving rain !

Add Shropshire to the list. Forecast good, weather lousy. I wouldn't
mind the rain, but it was also about 10c cooler than had been forecast.

Add Shropshire to the list. Forecast good, weather lousy. I wouldn't
mind the rain, but it was also about 10c cooler than had been forecast.

Typical Met Office - more than 50 miles from Bracknell and they don't give a
toss on the national forecasts. Saturday in South Manchester wasn't *too*
bad but it was not especially bright, windier than forecast and nowhere near
the temperatures predicted.

[Hmm, retrospectively checked the local freebie paper - they were spot on.
Cloudy, odd bright spell, 18C. I suspect this is the local Met Office at
work. Rumour has it you can get good forecasts for nearby airports by
browsing international aviation sites as the industry standard is to make
all data available.]

It was very windy and pretty cold all Saturday and Sunday on the
Carmarthen Fans with only very occasional breaks in the cloud.

I meant to add that this weather was contrary to the forecasts that had
been promising a heatwave all last week.

I was walking in the Northern Lakes (TR to follow): strong westerly
wind, heavy cloud, temperatures in the low teens in the valleys, forecast
to be about 5 Celsius on the tops. Got seriously cold on top of Bowscale
Fell in strong wind and heavy rain; of course I have the kit to cope well
with these sorts of conditions, but it was all back home in Cambridge! :-(

Saturday....started cloudy but brightened up - no rain but cool, jumper off,
jumper on sorta day.

I was on Fan Gyhirych and Fan Hir was there one minute, then it wasn't then
it was if you know what I mean.
Tenby - Saturday evening, coolish, - it rained a little on the way down
but not down there.

I expected the weather to be nice Sat not so nice Sunday - can't say there
was a heatwave though.

I hope this weekend is much the same as it might be too hot for proposed
trip - as long as it don't rain.

Excellent- two weeks wear.

I've just bought a Paramo Mountain Pull On, which also claims to be
reversible- has anybody ever reversed it?

I was on Snowdon on Saturday, and it was fairly sunny at the bottom.
It was wet and misty on the top, but exhilarating!
