It arrived y/day, and in the bag was a little piece of paper saying "NOTE: for Geko and eMap remove tab from ePlug". There's a diagram which points to a little plastic spur on the side of one of the little plugs. In the picture shown at the link above, the plug in question is on the one at the bottom of the picture, and the plastic spur is the little thing at the top of that plug 'pointing' towards the cigarette lighter connector.
Does anyone know how I'm supposed to remove it? It looks as though I'd have to break/snip it off, but I don't want to break the blasted thing before I've used it, and maybe it's meant to slide out if pulled with pliers or something?

Don't know if this helps you but the spur you refer to 'locks' into a slot in my vista and provides a locking mechanism to stop the plug being pulled off the vista accidentally. Looking at the couple of leads I have the spur looks to be part of the moulding, I don't think you can pull it out.

on my eTrex cable this spur locates into a slot in the body of the GPS, the plug's male to the GPS's female so to speak, presumably to aid ePlug alignment. It sounds as if the Geko housing doesn't have the corresponding female slot.
I'd have thought that removing it by snipping it off/shaving it with a blade of some description would see you right.
