Narrowed my choice down to these (or trail and country walking have!)
Any views or long term testers out there to help me decide?
Thanks.

I have a Freeflow 35. It is the dog's nadgers if, like me, you hate having
anything gluing your clothes to your sweaty back. It's a bit of a bugger to
pack, being narrow and not "straight" up-and-down, and it won't sit upright
by itself. Nice big top pocket and expandable side pockets though. I
bought a small chest strap to pull the shoulder straps in and out of my
armpits (just tell me when I drift into too-much-information territory). No
doubt they've chopped and changed a few bits and pieces - I've had mine
about 4 years now. When it's all correctly adjusted, you really hardly
notice you're wearing a rucksack at all.

I've got a Berghaus Freeflow 35+8 which seems to serve me very well. I do
know that some users have a bit of an issue with the hip belt digging in
under heavy loads but this isnt something that I've ever noticed. The back
system is good at preventing 'sweaty back' syndrome and the pack is easy to
compress when carrying lighter loads.
I *did* manage to break the back-board by dropping the pack (very heavily
laden) about 15' down a crag. To its credit, it still carried its load
pretty well and Berghaus replaced the board for free whilst I waited.
Probably the only advantage of living in Sunderland near the factory......

Try them both on with a typical hiking weight in and get the more
comfortable one. If you can't tell any difference in comfort get the
one in the colour you like more... And try on a few others while you're
in the shop: Trail and Country Walking's testers may be a different
shape to you and find different sacks suit them better.
Comfort is a pre-eminent consideration, and trying on in person is the
best way to evaluate it. That's where a shop scores over mail order.
Pete.

I do have it in for berghaus rucksacks due to 3 disastrous experiences
(2 small packs and one big one).
That was over a decade ago, so perhaps the company has overhauled their
line. But the memory remains.
