Here is my question: I recently purchased a newer Cinelli Super Corsa frame, 2003 I believe. I want to put Campganolo Super Record down tube friction shifters on, attaching them to the braze-on pegs. The braze-on pegs on this frame seem to be too long for these shifters. With all of the parts installed, there is a gap between squared stopper part that fits against the down tube and the beginning of the actual level.
Were these braze-on pegs designed for Ergo shifters? Do I need indexed shifters rather than friction? Is there a washer fix that would work?

I havent found any difference in the braze on bosses between older and newer frames,although there is a bit of variation in stud length. Ergo/STi, makes no difference as they just use a cable stop that bolts to the braze on boss.Index downtube either. I have older campy downtubes on several bikes, and no issues. I just stuck a set on a newer frame, and again no isues. I don't know why the stud couldn't be shortened if it's too long, assuming the threads are deep enough.
