Do you have to have a standlight? Anyway, the Oval is generally taken
to be more reliable so I'd go for that.

Power comes from a side-wall dynamo, also powering the rear

LED/Standlight.

I stupidly broke one of these (twice) as I couldn't get them open when they

I didn't bother to try for an exchange after the second time. I just put a
black cable tie round it.
After all, the bulb goes for years before it needs replacing (or it has on
my other B & M). Of course, yours might be more extensively damaged than
mine was.

Oval Plus is the one I was referring to when I mentioned that my other B & M
has worked fine for years. Now on it's fourth winter and occasional summer
use (but stays on the bike all year round).

I think B&M do spares. If it is just the reflector/bulb holder that is
broken, then you may be OK with the front off the non-standard type.

The oval one, as others have said, has more reliable connections to the
body. (says he hopefully as he uses it at the moment)

Thanks for various replies.

Attempt to mate front of stand-light model to back of "cheaper ordinary"
failed due to lack of extra wiring contacts.

So, I purchased an oval model, which looks less likely to suffer the same
bashing as the round.
