Last spring I bought an older used Trek 1000 which was in mint condition. The only thing I don't like about it is the OvalTech chainrings. Has anyone replaced the oval ones with round ones, and if so, what did you use? I didn't pay much for this bike and don't want to put much money into this project. If it's not worth it I'll ride it as is and save up for a new bike. (gonna do that anyway)

Generic rings will work fine Naashbar has em. Tou have to match crank spider pattern and Bolt circle Diameter. If you are lucky, it's 5 hole 130BCD, 135 or 110.
