DOZENS of seats on the world's most luxurious cruise liner have collapsed
under the weight of obese American passengers. The chairs -- on the Queen
Mary 2 -- are being replaced or repaired. The seating is mainly in the bar
and restaurant areas. Alstom Chantiers, the French company that provided the
liner with all its fixtures and fittings, claimed many of the chairs had

That is too funny! I can just see it now. All these big fat Americans
driving their huge SUVs in the parking lot then walking towards the ship
with lobster bibs on already, before they even get on. LOL Hummers,
Excursions and Escalades fill the parking lot. Too funny! People pushing
their way on the ship in search of the nearest buffets. The employees and
French chefs all looking scared that they may not have enough food on board
and the captain wondering if the ship will be able to still float as they
board.

My Mom and Step-father went on a cruise to Alaska about 10 years ago. He
bragged later that they "didn't miss a single feeding!" and some of those
feedings were at midnight...Shortly after returning, he landed in the
hospital with gastritis, and the doc said, "I don't get it: if I didn't know
better, I'd say you've been gorging yourself with food and alcohol." When
told that Calvin had been on a two week cruise, the doc suddenly
understood....

The other night I went to a local restaurant with a friend and noticed
the chair I originally sat down on was shaky, so I immediately swapped
it not wanting to imagine being the fat American breaking the chair. Agh! 🙂

Well thanks for the heads up. We are going on a 7 day Norwegian Cruise
Line through the Alaska inlet in August. I will be sure and stand LOL,
Serves them right to have their chairs broken anyway. The average ass
width is not the meer 18 inches like the old movie theatres, play
houses and auditoriums seats. They were surely made in the 18th century
when woman cinched their bodies tightly in corsets LOL. I haven't
found a shoe horn big enough to help fit my fat ass in any those old
seats! The high school auditorium and playhouse here have those teeny
tiny armed seats! OWEEEEE
