I've been searching high and low for cycling apparel made for the tall & skinny man... 6'2", 155 lbs. Everything that fits girth only goes down to the navel, and everything that fits lengthwise is like a tent... It doesn't seem like that unusual of a body type for a cyclist... does any one know of a company that makes cycling apparel (especially tops) for people who are tall & skinny?
If you like wool, fabrics tend to shrink in one direction and most of the wool jerseys I've had shrunk in the long, yet painted-on way. So maybe a too-large Kucharik or similar wool jersey would "shrink to fit".

modern wool (swobo, woolistic or woolywarm) doesn't shrink appreciably so i wouldn't count on it .. i've abused the hell out of some xl swobos i have and i can't get them shrink. woolywarm DOES have a section on getting their stuff to shrink to fit but i dunno .. my experience says otherwise. their website is down or i'd put up a link.
to the op .. groan, i'm 6'2" 175 with 39cm shoulders and i have trouble. i'm right between a medium and a large. the medium woolywarms are long enuf tho (rare, most mediums ride up). i've never tried a medium woolistic (you can't get 'em anymore anyhow, ditto for swobo) .. so you might wanna try the woolywarm. -- david reuteler [email hidden]

My only two current wool jerseys are Swobo and Kucharik, both several years old, and both have shrunk an appreciable amount through infrequent cold, delicate cycle laundering. One might suggest I grew instead, except all my wool jerseys over the years have shrunk (only one in length, others in girth), while my other jerseys have not.

huh, i wash mine cold, gentle with ivory snow or regular detergent even (i took two swobo jerseys cross country & washed 'em with whatever i could find every other day) with no appreciable shrinkage. the xl i have i washed warm a half dozen times and threw it in a warm dryer with no shrinkage. i'm told it's agitation not temperature that really makes the difference, tho.
can you define appreciable? did they go from an xl to a medium? or from an xl to a large for instance? -- david reuteler [email hidden]
