I'm overweight and so am interested in walking for weight loss,rather than for recreational reasons.I go to the gym,but wanted to add walking to my routine to add some variety.So I want to know if it's possible to walk from Birmingham to either Redditch or Coventry? I know these are very long walks, and I will probably walk one way, and then rather than walking all the way back, just catch a bus or train to return to Birmingham.
Fitting walking and other exercise into your daily routine is a good way to lose weight. I've got maybe two walks planned for today seeing as I woke up too late to go for a run (doesn't feel right if I don't go early), one will be along the river, up through the woods, back over the suspension bridge, across the Downs to Elliss Brighams (want to look at some gaiters for plodding through snow if they're open for the skiers this time of year) down to the town centre via Field & Trek and back along the docks to look at the boats. If I've got time after that I'll fling my rucksack on and go via a pleasant enough disused railway line, keeping an eye out for local birdlife, to dump some plastic bottles for recycling at Sainsbury's and stock up on pork pies.
This is ofcourse more time efficient than driving to the shops and then driving somewhere else to go for a walk and leaves me more time to go for the coveted top poster slot.

Bugger, I thought I was doing well with the whole newt thing yesterday but I still only managed 18 posts according to google which pails into insignificance compared to the might of the great PW. (Shan't say how many).
