  1. Dear all

Of the three sizes of the above devices I have seen I have no idea which
size to go for. The sizes are 28.6, 31.8 and 34.9 and relate to Seat tube
clamp size. I have an integral seat clamp on my 98 GT Zaskar LE and am at a
loss which to go for. The seatpost is a 27.2 IIRC. No LBS has them round
here so can't try them either.

    Any help appreciated!!

Why not ask someone at the lbs? They should be able to give you the
    correct info.

Not likely, if the diameters are 28.6-34.9.

    A 28.6mm seat tube clamp denotes a 25.4mm seatpost, a 31.8mm clamp denotes
27.2, and 34.9 denotes 31.6. These are approximate, but a rough guide.

Bert Root, If you want to measure the diameter of your seat tube, take a
piece of string, wrap it around the seat tube to get the circumference, and
then measure it in mm and divide it by pi, which is 3.14159. This should
give you the approximate diameter that should be close to one of the
    diameters you gave.

Cheers for the info that is exactly what I was looking for.

  7. What about using a caliber. Buy one like at Sears and
your have it in the future and you won't have to ask stupid questions.

Try English numbnuts. What the [censored] would I use a caliber for? I know you
probably associate a caliper with what you had on your leg as a child but
that is the word you are looking for.

You are right about stupid questions though as they just generate stupid
    answers like this one.

Hey Buddy, you don't have to get all pissy. We understood what Crazy
said. Funny, we haven't seen you around here before. Maybe you should
google up some past converations on this board and you'd know who the
regulars are. Crazy's been here much longer than you or I and I think
you should show some respect before shooting your useless mouth off. No
need to go ballistic over a spelling error.

Funny you should say that cos that is exactly what I did and hey didn't find
anything that was a lot of use especially the answer I quoted to my
question. Anyway you missed my point entirely.

I couldn't give a flying [censored] if the guy is GOD in these here parts you get
respect when you do something to earn it and in this thread he has done
    nothing.

The spelling mistake and general lack of grammar in the post weren't my
issue it was the inference that my question was stupid.

I guess you were shocked to find out that Crazy's participation in
this NG doesn't revolve around your informational needs. Boy,
    reality hits hard, eh?

Not at all just amazed to find out that after his brain stem had been
severed he could still manage to get things onto a screen despite them being
    a load of old sh1te.

Yeah something I have been using for years don't understand your poorly made
    point.

Yeah try this quote from there -

    ' 1.2.2 - It's an English-speaking group, so posting in English is
preferred, as is decent spelling and grammar. Even if you have the IQ of
Dubya and dyslexia, at least try and read a post back to yourself and run a
    spill-chequer before hitting send. '

Like I said earlier I got what I wanted from the group thanks to someone who
appears not to have a need to defend the bottom feeder present in the group.

If you've been using it for years, you obviously haven't gotten the hang of
it. Check the FAQ again, this time with special emphasis on para 1.5.
Figure it out from there and then be thankful JD hasn't rolled in on you
    yet.

.....and your point is what?? You think you'll get respect for busting
Crazy's chops over his spelling and grammer? That [censored] doesn't apply to
him. Don't ask why, it just doesn't.

    Keep trying...this is fun
