Got type II Diabetes and High blood pressure, <snip>
1 - I read people say their blood sugar had plunged to normal on
induction. Mine has not. It is up there around 200 and higher. I am taking
Glyburide. 10mg in the morning. It used to work. Not anymore. Been on
Glucophage. It was as useful as [censored] on Ernest Borgnine. So. Why am I not
showing improvement? Is a high spike normal on induction?
If your blood sugar is routinely over 200 mg/dl you need to get a new
doctor right now! That level is high enough to produce blindness and
amputation. You may well need insulin to get back in control because
once your blood sugar goes over 200 you develop an extreme insulin
resistance that even low carbing may not address. (BTW going on insulin
is nothing to be freaked out about. I'm told the shots hurt less than
finger sticks.) And unlike the pills, insulin works. Doctors are so
brainwashed by the drug companies that they avoid using insulin where it
would be appropriate and instead prescribe drugs that are incapable of
bringing blood sugar down to the levels that avoid diabetic
complications. FIND A NEW, BETTER DOCTOR!!!!!
