Realistically there can't be much hope or him now unless he was off the
hill days ago and just forgot to tell anyone.

A MR spokesman yesterday sounded implausibly optimistic saying he had
only been benighted for 2 nights. Apparently he has Huntingtons disease
and was said to be wearing a red fleece and blue walking shorts. (Brr).
No mention made of any other gear.

Yes but alas after a week or so, even days, the outcome in'y always what you
want.

I may have been a little hasty with my reply, looks like Sunday now and
including Bleaklow.

Its been a busy time for MRTs and searches. 5 Teams + Search Dogs spent two,
possibly three days looking for this gentleman. A team spent 14 hours from
06.00 on weds to search for a missing male in Darwen, then spent almost 20
hours searching for another one from 02.00 Friday in Bolton.

Lets remember they are all volunteers !

Alas, the gentleman's body has been found this afternoon by a MRT.

Again, aniother sad outcome the gentleman in Bolton was found by the Polices
underwater search unit.

It was as bleak and windy as expected - gusts up to 75mph on top according
to some park rangers I met on the way up, but it didn't feel that bad until
I got down and I felt like I could have fried an egg on my face.

Didn't spend as long there as intend cos I missed two trains - the first
from oversleeping and the second because I foolishly thought platform 2c at
Sheffield station would be somewhere near 2a and 2b, and not seeing a sign
sat at 2b like a numpty. The shame, I can find my way up and down Ben nevis
in a white out, but I can't find a platform on a railway station :-(

I had no plans, as I'm only just back from a week walking up hills in
gale force winds, rain, and snow. But had I had plans, I wouldn't
have altered them just because a bit of a breeze :-)
