how about the second "eternal second," Jan Ullrich? -
At least he won the TdF once...don't know about Poulidor.

Raimundas Rumsas, who was 3rd GC, Podium step in Lance's TDF Win #4, in 2002.
Sadly, Raimundas wife was caught later that night, by French customs agents as she attempted to cross into Italy with massive amounts (37 types) of anemia, trauma drugs and stimulants too.
EPO, thinners, HGH, vasodilators etc....
Raimundas caught a plane out of Paris, never to return to France where an arrest warrant awaits him. He left his wife in jail for over 2 months. Eventually, the French took pity on the mother of two and released her. Raimundas never cracked!
Rumsas did test drug postive in Italythe next year, his resident country--and home to the best doping doctors. We probably won't see him in the TDF again.
Geee, after a solid 3rd place in the Tour, the guy had some really bad luck. Such a pity.
