started it because I tested my blood sugars a lot soon after dx. I found
that even if I followed advice on the right insulin shots before meals, my
bg shot up, and it was a constant struggle to control it. The trouble was

Anyway... rather than do half measures, I gave up carbs.
Totally.
Julie Bove said:Here we go again! If you give up carbs totally, all you have left is some
meats and fat. There are carbs in most dairy products, eggs and all
vegetables. Maybe not a lot, but certainly some.
I would suggest there is history that says for 40 days you can give up
*eating*.

I'm not advocating this lifesytle change [diet] for anyone out there but I
have to say that you 'just don't need carbs'.
Julie Bove said:Wrong. You can say that you, yourself does not need carbs. You can't say
this for other people. By dinner time, the need for carbs is so
intense that I've broken down and eaten some. Not a lot, but maybe 10g. I
do feel better for a little while after that meal. But by bedtime I'm
feeling like [censored] again. Granted, my situation may not be normal.

something on or eat for a sugar rush, is made out of carbs. But you don't
need them. OK, i do take a daily vitamin pill to make up for the missing
fruit and veg but that's it. I was going to put, as a disclaimer, "anyone thinking of undertaking this
diet should first consult their doctor", but if you did that they would

Not a reason to not include your physician in your health processes.
Quoted message said:Quoted message said:PS. One advantage is that you can taste EVERY MOLECULE of sugar in
anythingQuoted message said:you eat or drink. I think my brain was just saturated with sugar. Maybe
'sugar is the opium of the masses'. It's much nicer like this. It's like
getting a "taste" back. Like an extra sense (well, part of taste)
There is inverse relationship between gluttony and taste. Any reduction in
food consumption will generate, ime, more taste and guess what, more taste
= greater satisfaction with less volume. Hint for those out there who love
their food...you've traded your real quality for quantity.
