By the way, congrats on taking the plunge. I'm certainly not worthy of my
custom (of another name), but have it none the less. It's a great feeling
knowing, every time you throw your leg over the saddle, you're going to get
a ride like it was made for you.

D'oh! If you contact them quick, you can let them know that you've
accidentally ordered a mountain bike with silly wheels.

This is what I love about AM-B... the positive reinforcement. But seriously
the big wheels are the one part of this deal I'm nervous about. Why do you
consider them silly? Or are you just busting balls?

Ah, now that looks about me speed.

Going to San Diego at the end of the month. I am trying to sneak in an
extra day for a ride. Suggestions are welcomed.

The pics were of the Cannel Plunge, which is well north of here
    (Bakersfield - Kernville).

Depending on trail conditions and what you have in mind, some rides to
consider would be Noble Canyon; Cuyamaca; Daley Ranch; Sycamore Canyon; Los
    Penasquitos, etc.

Let us know where & when you'll be here. I'll be in Washington, DC for a
few days to attend my father's funeral on the 24th; otherwise I'll be
    around.

Sorry about your dad. My prayers to your and your family.

Conference is 2/2 - 2/5. I am trying to finagle a way to stay Sunday
2/6 and go home on 2/7. I still have to check on bike rentals and a
car. I'll be at the new Omni.

Thanks. He would have turned 88 a few days ago, so he lived a long and
fruitful life (said one of said fruits 🙂 ).

Ah, you meant the /beginning/ of /next/ month! I'm supposed to go on a ski
trip to Utah 2/3 - 2/6, but haven't plunked down the kaysh yet (not sure of
who's going & such). I'm sure someone can hook you up for a ride if I'm
    gone...

    Enjoy the $18 nuts...

My condolences Bill. I know how you're feeling, my mother passed away last
year in March. One day at a time brother.

Thanks, Chris -- lost my mom way back in '95, /both/ grandmothers not long
after that (one reached 100+ and the other was 99), and now my dad.
Mortality is sinking in! (Worst part is not having anyone to call now on
    special occasions 🙁 .)

I think I remember you posting about your mother's passing; not an easy
    thing, is it?

It's been TOO DAMNED RAINY lately to even ride off some stress, but sunshine
and clear skies have returned so both the road and dirt beckon! I needs my
    roll, man!!!

My condolences too. That's got to be tough.

Seriousness aside, if you want, you can call me on holidays. But you'll
probably have to leave a message because I'll be out skiing or riding...
