... and one of 'em has a red lining; the other appears to be green. I
assume that the green goes on the right and the red goes on the
left... like aircraft lights. (That way I always know whether I'm
coming or going which gives me an edge on most people.)

    Is there another interpretation?

    This is the _bicycle business_.
The cheapest source for PTFE was the red brand one day.
Another day the green vendor got the order.
It's also white, purple, blue, black sometimes

  2. Agreed. You're riding a bike built of parts supplied by the cheapest
    bidder.

    Just like the space shuttle.

Well, it's an ancient, garage-sale Santana tandem intended for
"civilian" use. Now, I need a faring and some of those tight, black
panties that impart super powers... and a cape, of course. Then I'll
choose a theme song and take off across country... fighting crime and
    breaking young girls' hearts.

Just don't lose your flying instructions...

Surely the britches come with instructions for their use? My problem
is, down in the tropics where I live, we have *industrial* strength
mosquitos and they bite right through spandex... even while you're
riding. Also DEET will dissolve them. (They *say* it's safe for your
skin; however, it dissolved the handle of my Swiss Army knife, so I
    dunno.)

Why not just eat any pesky insects?
